Making a Butcher Block Countertop

Step 1: Cut the Lumber

Step 2: Glue the Lumber Together

Step 3: Sand the Countertop

Step 4: Apply Mineral Oil

Once the countertop is sanded, you can apply mineral oil to protect it. Mineral oil is a food-safe oil that will help to keep the countertop looking its best. Apply the mineral oil with a clean cloth, and then buff it into the wood.
